Program konference GoDigital 2020

Digitalni svet 2020

GoDigital predavanje: What role does digitalisation have to play in the wake of Covid-19?

The emergence of a global pandemic in 2020 changed the priorities for governments, businesses and consumers practically overnight. What does this mean for digitalisation? The urgency of this crisis has spurred an acceleration of existing trends, and the innovative application of existing technologies to new areas, rather than a complete shift in focus. Covid-19 exposed weaknesses in our healthcare systems, supply chains and e-commerce infrastructures that digitalisation is well placed to remedy.

The presentation will explore the transformative potential of the Internet of Things with a vibrant array of possible business applications. In the 2020 edition of EIU Technological Readiness Ranking - we’ve seen a massive acceleration in the scale and scope of e-commerce, digital innovation and e-government during the pandemic. This will have consequences over the medium-term for everything from digital infrastructure to logistics to warehousing—plus knock-on effects for the future of work, as intelligent systems replace human workers. Which countries are best placed to benefit from this? Where does Slovenia fall in our ranking of the EU, and among the world’s 82 largest economies?

Finally, the presentation will explore the globalisation and the threat of Covid-19: Down but not out? What can we expect as executives rethink their long-term strategies? We explore digital solutions that provide more visibility over supply chains, the diversification of supply chains to reduce dependence on China, and a rethink of the just-in-time manufacturing model. As companies take the expensive step of reshoring some production, can we anticipate a surge in digitalisation and automation?.

GoDigital predavanje: Why work will never be the same again?

No one could have predicted the state of the world as a result of COVID-19. The impacts have been dire and far-reaching; beyond the healthcare implications, the pandemic has created the deepest recession in Europe since World War II.

In the workplace, the COVID-19 crisis has been a catalyst for profound transformation in working models. Companies that have maintained business continuity and shown the greatest resilience were led by an agile, engaged, and highly skilled workforce.

Everyone is speaking about the "new normal", but no one knows exactly what it will look like. Nevertheless, we can draw lessons from recent months and prepare for the future. Although the effects of the pandemic are still ongoing and continually changing, IDC feels that some elements of a successfully "crisis-transformed" business will certainly emerge.
• Hybrid workplaces that increase employee productivity
• Automation and intelligent technologies that create an optimal employee experience
• High-performance teams that can adapt to an ever-changing work environment
• Empowerment of employees and new models of trust and leadership
• Lifelong learning to foster a culture of innovation.
